Southampton City Council has been allocated £2.2 million to support those most in need with the cost of essentials via the Household Support Fund. This funding covers the period 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
The Household Support Fund is there to help low-income households, including families with children of all ages, pensioners, unpaid carers, care leavers and disabled people, larger families, single-person households and those struggling with one-off financial shocks or unforeseen events.
The Household Support Fund is not an emergency fund. This means it is not designed to provide same-day or next-day assistance.
