Citizens Advice Southampton is a local charity providing free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to over 7,000 people in Southampton every year on any problems they might face. We work as part of a network of around 300 local Citizens Advice members across England and Wales.

We are an equal opportunities employer and encourage applications from all applicants who meet the person specification irrespective of sex, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, age, or disability.

Home and Well is a project developed by Citizens Advice Hampshire, in partnership with a range of other agencies, which has been running successfully over the last year. Building on this success, Citizens Advice Southampton are now looking to recruit a Home and Well Adviser to develop the service within our local area.

The Role:

The aim of the role is to support patients awaiting discharge within a hospital and/or in a clinical environment, with any advice needs which might be affecting them, and their recovery. This could cover making sure their home environment is warm and safe for them to return to, or ensuring they can access support or benefits.

The role will also support people with Priority Services Registration, providing initial financial assessments, introducing them to utility company payment schemes, giving fuel poverty advice, and related support.

About You:

You will have excellent communication and IT skills, be able to collate statistics, manage your targets and develop working relationships effectively.

For a job pack including an application form, please contact Emma Vint at Citizens Advice Southampton, by email, at evint@sotoncab.org.uk. Please note CV’s will not be accepted.

Closing date for applications is Wednesday 30th March at 5pm, with interviews expected to be held either early the following week.

Please note all successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check.
